The majority of Maine’s moms have insurance before becoming pregnant. And, 84% of women who deliver babies in the Pine Tree State begin receiving care during their first trimester.

Still, some pregnant women in the US northeastern most state face difficulties obtaining care, namely a lack of transportation, food insecurity, language barriers, and insufficient culturally appropriate care.

Our collaborative efforts are helping expand access to prenatal vitamins and minerals for underserved women throughout the state and across the US.
