Idaho’s large geographic size and relatively small population make it one of the most rural states in the nation. Providing adequate primary care services to residents across the state poses a significant challenge, with over 96% of counties falling short as of 2017.
Geographic access is just one barrier pregnant women may face in obtaining care in the Gem State. Lack of providers is another. There are only about 150 actively practicing OB/GYNs statewide. Yet, women of reproductive age account for nearly 20% of the population of Idaho.
A healthy pregnancy is something every mom deserves. So together, we’re helping moms across Idaho, and the US overcome barriers to care.
